Preserve & Restore Photos

I am providing a photo retouching service to friends and family, family of friends and friends of family. Lend me your older photos and I can help you scan, retouch, repair, and preserve them for generations to come. The rates I charge are competitive with retailers who provide a similar service. 

Currently I don't print these photos but I can help you find a printer upon request. If enough interest is expressed I may invest in a photo printer making me capable of doing this in the future.

Scanning

You may scan the images and send them to me, or you can give me the originals and I can scan them for you. I recommend scanning as a .tif, with 300 dpi or higher. If you'd like to print the image at twice the size scan the image at 600 dp.

If you'd only like the images scanned I can give you a quote upon request otherwise this service is part of the total charge of photo retouching.

 

Retouching

When retouching photos I try to remove as many distractions as possible from the scene in the photo, while preserving the vintage charm that makes it an heirloom. Photo retouching is very subjective and if you'd like a different level of photo retouching then what is provided in the examples please let me know when you request your quote.

The price I quote depends on amount of retouching I will need to do in order to get the photo to a level you find acceptable. This price ranges from $20-$50+ per photo. I will need to see the photos before I can give you a quote.

Delivery

I will send you a link to digitally download the images after I've finished them. Please download them and save them somewhere safe. Once I know you've downloaded the file I will remove the link. I generally deliver a 300 dpi .tif as these tend to print well. If you'd like anything other than this or or in addition please let me know before I begin working on the photos. If you'd like the image cropped so it fits in a frame please specify the final crop size as well.
